Peptidci

Peptitler (Grekçe: πεπτίδια; “ufak tefek sindirilebilirler”) teşhismlanmış bir düzende, α-amino asitlerin birbirine destelanmasıyla oluşan kısaca polimerlerdir.[1] Bir amino hamız lafıntısı ile diğeri arasındaki bağ bir “amit bağ” veya peptit bağı olarak bilinir.[1]

Tetrapeptit (Oligopeptit)
Proteinler polipeptit molekülleridir (veya çok adetda polipeptit alt birimi barındırır). Gerçek ayırt peptitlerin kısaca, polipeptitlerin/proteinlerin ise uzun olmasıdır.[1]

Protein sentezi sırasında her amino hamız, öbür amino asite temelli, kırılmayan bir polimer olan polipeptid zincirleriyle destelanır. Polipeptid gestaltsına hoşgörüsüzlan amino asitlerin her biri gestaltya peptid destelarıyla destelanır. Peptid bağının oluşumu sırasında amino asitlerden birinin amino grubu ile diğerinin karboksil grubu, aradan bir sutaş çıkması sonucu birleşirler.[1]

Vasati bir polipeptit zinciri 450 amino asitten oluşur.[1] Bilindik en uzun polipeptit, takribî 27,000 amino asitten oluşan, kas dokusunda kâin “titin”dir. Polipeptid zincirine hoşgörüsüzlan amino asitlere lafıntı (residue) adı verilir.[1] Zincirin bir ucundaki lafıntı, bağ yapmamış, hür amino grubu barındırır ve N ucu olarak adlandırılır. Aynı şekilde zincirin öbür ucundaki hür α-karboksil grubu olan lafıntıya C ucu adı verilir.
