Peptidci

Peptitler (Grekçe: πεπτίδια; “değersiz sindirilebilirler”) tanımlanmış bir düzende, α-amino asitlerin birbirine ilişkilanmasıyla oluşan endamsız polimerlerdir.[1] Bir amino asit lakırtııntısı ile ötekisi arasındaki bağ bir “amit bağ” yahut peptit bağı olarak bilinir.[1]

Tetrapeptit (Oligopeptit)
Proteinler polipeptit molekülleridir (yahut çok adetda polipeptit madun birimi barındırır). Taban başkalık peptitlerin endamsız, polipeptitlerin/proteinlerin ise uzun olmasıdır.[1]

Protein sentezi esnasında her amino asit, öbür amino asite ötümlü, kırılmayan bir polimer olan polipeptid zincirleriyle ilişkilanır. Polipeptid örgüsına sertlan amino asitlerin her biri örgüya peptid ilişkilarıyla ilişkilanır. Peptid bağının oluşumu esnasında amino asitlerden birinin amino grubu ile diğerinin karboksil grubu, aradan bir sutaş çıkması sonucu birleşirler.[1]

Yaklaşık bir polipeptit zinciri 450 amino asitten oluşur.[1] Aşina en uzun polipeptit, takribî 27,000 amino asitten oluşan, kas dokusunda bulunan “titin”dir. Polipeptid zincirine sertlan amino asitlere lakırtııntı (residue) adı verilir.[1] Zincirin bir ucundaki lakırtııntı, bağ yapmamış, özgür amino grubu barındırır ve N ucu olarak adlandırılır. Aynı şekilde zincirin öbür ucundaki özgür α-karboksil grubu olan lakırtııntıya C ucu adı verilir.
